I bought the 8 inch skewers for our cookout to make eating a little easier (without needing extra utensils). They worked really well and were very sturdy and easy to eat with. The color is identical to the photos, a light wooden tone that complemented the food nicely. They're pretty versatile so we also used them for fruit skewers - they were strong enough to hold pineapple, blueberries, strawberries and grapes. A note for grilling, be sure to soak the skewers in water for AT LEAST 30-45 minutes to prevent them from charring or breaking at high temps.
